Abstract:
For a better understanding of the research progress of estuarine ecological restoration and assessment, this study sorted out the papers on ecological restoration of estuarine areas and their assessment by conducting bibliometric analysis on the publications in Web of Science and CNKI database and visual analysis via VOSviewer. Results show that the number of publications on the topics is increasing internationally and the number of foreign language publications
is much more than that in China. The main fields of study mainly include environmental science, oceanography and ecology. At present, hotspots abroad mainly focus on wetland ecosystems, including the impact of disturbances such as climate change, the temporal and spatial dynamics of nitrogen and phosphorus, the restoration of ecosystem services, such as biodiversity and functions, the restoration capacity, and restoration management methods. Domestic research hotspots mainly include marine ecological restoration policies, land reclamation management and control, methods for assessing and evaluating the effects of integrated land-sea restoration, and evaluation of coastal zone remediation and restoration effects. The studies on marine ecological restoration coordinated with land and sea and natural restoration of ecosystems have attracted more and more attention from researchers. Comprehensive analysis shows that China should strengthen the research and exploration of ecological restoration of estuarine ecosystems based on land-sea integration, performance assessments of ecological restoration projects of estuarine ecosystems and adaptive management follwing assessments.
