Abstract: Based on samples from 2008 to 2017, statistical characteristics of early typhoons causing rainstorm over Fujian Province are analyzed. Results show that the rainstorms caused by early typhoon and the influences in Fujian Province mainly concentrated from mid-June to early July. The probability of rainstorm over Fujian caused by early typhoon generated in the offshore South China Sea is the highest. The intensity of early typhoon affecting Fujian is not strong and the strongest intensity in its life cycle is mostly from typhoon grade to tropical storm grade. Most early typhoons causing rainstorm over Fujian are those moved northward or turned toward the coasts of Southern China in the South China Sea. The influence level of rainstorm by early typhoon is closely related to its landing site and the postlanding track.
