Abstract:
According to the data from 4 surveys in spring, summer, autumn and winter during 2006~2007, the seasonal variation of Fujian and Zhejiang Coastal Current (FZCC) spatial expansion, temperature, salinity and nutrient contents horizontal distribution were analyzed. The results showed that FZCC during the investigation was mainly distributed in Zhejiang and Fujian coastal waters, with obvious seasonal changes. The expansion of FZCC in winter was the largest, of which it can affect the coastal waters around Nanao Island in Guangdong, followed by FZCC in autumn, which can affect the coastal waters around Xiamen Bay and Dongshan Bay. In spring FZCC can expand to Quanzhou Bay, while in summer the expansion was the smallest, only distributed in northern coastal waters of Zhejiang Province. Luoyuan Bay, Xiamen Bay and Dongshan Bay were selected to analyze the impact of FZCC on typical bays. The result showed that a lot of nutrient material was brought by FZCC to typical bays in winter, and the nutrient content of seawater in Luoyuan Bay, Xiamen Bay and Dongshan Bay were obviously increased. The impact of FZCC in autumn and spring was minor, and in summer these bays were not affected.
